Jim served for more than 20 years with Chesapeake Corporation, ultimately rising to the role of President of Chesapeake Display and Packaging.  He and his team built Chesapeake from a regional "brown box" packaging supplier to a national leader of in-store marketing solutions.  Then, in 1990-91, Jim and a small team of industry veterans left Chesapeake to start Alliance Display and Packaging, which quickly rose to a strong position in the marketplace.  Jim served as CEO of Alliance until it was acquired by RockTenn Company in 1995.

After the RockTenn acquisition, Jim became a VP and General Manager and continued to lead the Alliance Division of RockTenn until his retirement as an Executive Vice-President in the Fall of 2009.  During this phase of his career, Jim built Alliance into a clear market leader, with an average CAGR of more than 15% between 1995 and 2009, resulting in more than $2.8 Billion of revenue and almost $300 Million of pre-tax profit for RockTenn Company over that 15 year period.

Einstein served two terms on the Point Of Purchase Advertising International (POPAI) Board of Directors, and Alliance was a founding benefactor of the In-Store Marketing Institute under his leadership.  In January of 2011, Jim Einstein will be inducted into POPAI's Hall of Fame.

He currently serves as a Director of Premier Commercial Bank, a small business-focused financial institution which he helped start in 2008.  Jim also served on the Board at Forsyth Country Day School, one of the Southeast's leading private schools, and he has always been actively involved in the Winston-Salem, NC chapter of the United Way, currently serving on the Development Committee.
